Inspects Welded Or Soldered Joints And Seams For Defects, Such
As Cracks, Cold Weld, Spatter, And Undercuts: Tests Joints Or
Seams, Using Either Of Following Methods: (1) Connects
Test-fittings To Pipe, Turns Valve To Admit Compressed Air, And
Immerses Pipe In Water, Or Brushes Soapy Water Onto Pipe To
Locate Leaks. (2) Probes Soldered Joints, Using Pointed Tool, To
Locate Defects. Marks Location Of Defects, Using Crayon, And
Routes Defective Parts To Repair Area. May Use Dye Penetrants Or
Magna-flux Equipment During Inspection.
